Born on June 03rd 1929 of Lebanese parents in Kaftoun, Al-Kurah

Education:

  • Primary & Secondary Education at the International College, Beirut
  • Premedical BA in 1950 from the American University of Beirut
  • Doctor of Medicine in 1954 from the American University of Beirut
  • Specialized in Ear, Nose & Throat & in Plastic Facial Surgery, 1961, Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

Career Landmarks:

  • 1961: Instructor of Medicine at the American University of Beirut Hospital
  • 1963-1975: Assistant Professor of Medicine at the American University of Beirut Hospital
  • 1976-1992: Chief of Otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery at the Veteran's Medical Centre at Bay Pines Florida and private practice
  • 1992: Chief of Division of surgery at Bay Pines Medical Veteran's Hospital
  • 1992: Appointed Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa Florida
  • 1999- : Returned to Lebanon and still in practice of Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery
  • 2007- : Appointed Member on the Board of Trustees of the University of Balamand by his Beatitude Ignatius IV, Patriarch of Antioch & All East for Greek Orthodox.

Major Achievements:

  • 1939: Joined Scouting at International College Scouts at AUB
  • 1942: Took leadership of the Lebanese Scout Association (LSA)
  • 1951: Became Commissioner General of LSA
  • 1963: Became President of LSA
  • 1963-1967: Elected International Commissioner of "Lebanese Scouting"
  • 1967-1973: Elected President of Lebanese Scout Federation (all Scouts of Lebanon). Consolidated the Laws of the "Lebanese Scouting" and was co-contributor with Colonel Fahs, Head of Youth Sports Division, in Building "SMAR-Jbeil", the National Scout Camping in Lebanon
  • 1971: Elected to the World Scout Committee (Based in Geneva & administering worldwide Scout activities)
  • 1973-1977: Became the First Arab Vice President, twice elected, ever to reach this position in World Scouting
  • 1977-2008: Elected Founding Member of the World Scout Foundation headed by His Majesty Carl Gustav, King of Sweden & still active in scouting.

Honors & Awards:

  • 1977: Bronze Wolf Medal (highest World Scout medal for life achievements)
